Hyundai Engineering & Construction said on the 23rd that it took part in the bidding for the Apgujeong District 5 reconstruction and maintenance project and proposed a complex name and residential concept.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction proposed the complex name "Apgujeong Hyundai Galleria" in this bid. The company said it combined Apgujeong Hyundai and Galleria to reflect the symbolic status of the existing residential area and elements of a premium lifestyle.
Under the "OWN THE NEW" vision, the proposal included the residential product "NEW BEYOND 10." It outlined plans to apply demand-responsive transport (DRT)-based unmanned shuttles and Robotics technologies throughout the complex in collaboration with Hyundai Motor Group.
It also presented various technology application plans, including nanomobility, delivery robots, parking robots, electric vehicle charging robots, unmanned firefighting robots, and safety management robots.
On the residential design side, the plan includes securing Han River views for all units and adopting a three-sided open layout and 3-meter ceiling height. The community facilities will be organized around "Club Apgujeong," and features such as "The Circle 420," a circulatory structure within the complex, were reflected.
It also proposed providing membership-based services and daily convenience functions through linkage with Galleria.
A Hyundai Engineering & Construction official said, "Apgujeong is an area where preference and expectations for 'Apgujeong Hyundai' are very high not only in Districts 2 and 3, where 'Apgujeong Hyundai' is located, but across the entire area," adding, "In Apgujeong as well, we will inherit the identity of District 5, which is at the center of new change, complete 'Apgujeong Hanyang' as the new 'Apgujeong Hyundai,' and deliver NEW that goes beyond newness."
