With Hyundai Engineering & Construction selected as the preferred bidder for the Apgujeong District 3 redevelopment project, the company unveiled its "ONE City" blueprint on the 22nd.
Apgujeong District 3 is a redevelopment project that will rebuild 3,934 households—including Hyundai phases 1–7, 10, 13 and 14, and Daelim Villat—into a complex of up to 65 stories and 5,175 households.
Under the vision of "OWN THE ONE," Hyundai Engineering & Construction presented an urban residential model based on five core values: landmark design, community, Robotics, landscaping and residential services.
Global architecture firms RAMSA and Morphosis are participating in the design to create a landmark complex. All units will feature terraces and three-sided openable windows to secure views of the Han River and the city, and the plan calls for 3-meter coffered ceilings to enhance the sense of openness.
The community will be built around "Club Apgujeong" in a structure that consolidates the entire complex. Walking, exercise, rest and cultural functions are arranged in an integrated manner to organically utilize indoor and outdoor spaces. "The Circle One," a circular layout within the complex, will combine indoor landscaping, community facilities and mobility.
In future technologies, the company plans to introduce driverless shuttles based on demand-responsive transport (DRT) to improve mobility within the complex, along with smart parking, contactless delivery robots and a safety management system.
Landscaping will be designed as a multi-layered green system linked to the Han River, expanding urban green space through courtyards and private gardens. Global landscape firms GPB and Greenwise will participate in the design.
Residential design will apply "Canvas Units," a customized spatial layout for residents, and create a living environment that includes a hotel-style drop-off zone, separated circulation and healthcare services.
A Hyundai Engineering & Construction official said, "We have presented a new residential model that combines design, technology and residential services based on the value of Apgujeong Hyundai," adding, "We will continue to strengthen the project's competitiveness."
