Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) said on the 22nd that it is beginning full-scale operation of "Neulbom A-Eye," an artificial intelligence (AI)-based real-time integrated monitoring system to prevent safety accidents involving construction site workers and residents of purchased rental dwellings.
Neulbom A-Eye is a system that, based on CCTV footage installed at construction sites and purchased rental dwellings and IoT sensor data such as measuring instruments, detects and analyzes dangerous situations in real time with AI and then sends alerts to on-site managers.
LH has completed building Neulbom A-Eye and will begin full-scale operation this month. At construction sites, it detects in real time dangerous situations such as ▲ failure to wear safety helmets ▲ collapse ▲ being caught in heavy equipment ▲ fire and smoke. At purchased rental dwellings, it also monitors, through exterior CCTV, ▲ suspicious behavior ▲ illegal dumping of trash ▲ fires in dwellings.
The control system, which had previously been consolidated in a multi-tier structure (site–regional headquarters–headquarters), was reconfigured to connect directly to an "on-site–headquarters integrated control center." Through a web-based open system, on-site stakeholders and managers can easily access from anywhere, greatly improving the efficiency of on-site monitoring work.
LH applied "Generative AI (VLM)," which can understand video information and determine risk, to "Neulbom A-Eye," raising the AI analysis true positive rate to 95%. This is expected to reduce the safety accident rate by more than 23%*.
After operating the system at LH construction sites nationwide and purchased rental dwellings in North Jeolla, LH will expand the scope of operation to purchased rental dwellings outside the Seoul metropolitan area by mid next year.
In addition to expanding the scope of operation, LH plans to advance the system by pursuing ▲ development of a mobile app ▲ expansion of personnel and equipment management functions ▲ addition of rock and soil history management functions.
Lee Sang-jo, head of LH's Smart Construction Safety Headquarters, said, "Through Neulbom A-Eye, we have strengthened our safety management system capabilities to comprehensively manage safety at construction sites and purchased rental dwellings nationwide and to respond swiftly to dangerous situations," adding, "We will continue business innovation to help lead the government's national agenda of becoming one of the top three AI powerhouses and building a society where life and safety come first."
