Next month's nationwide apartment move-ins are set to drop by more than 30% from a year earlier. According to a survey by ZIGBANG CO., move-ins in May will total 11,685 households. That is down 32.8% from the same period a year earlier (17,387 households) and 28.4% from the previous month (16,311 households). After a rebound in April, the volume declined again in just one month.
By region, the Seoul metropolitan area accounts for 3,161 households and non-capital regions for 8,524 households, with non-capital supply making up about 73% of the total. The Seoul metropolitan area fell 61.4% from the previous month (8,193 households), the lowest monthly level this year, while non-capital regions edged up from the previous month, with supply set to continue mainly in Gyeongsang and Chungcheong.
The Seoul metropolitan area recorded the smallest monthly volume so far this year. In Seoul, move-ins are centered on small complexes, and with one or two complexes each supplied in Gyeonggi and Incheon, total move-ins decreased somewhat. In Seoul, 296 households will move into three complexes. The Sharp Songpa Lumista in Garak-dong, Songpa District (179 households), and in Gangdong District, Di Atheon in Gil-dong (64 households) and VIORR in Cheonho-dong (53 households) will see move-ins. As these are not large-scale complexes, the impact on supply and demand within Seoul is limited.
Gyeonggi Province will see move-ins of 2,064 households across five complexes. ▲ Hwaseong 806 households ▲ Anyang 538 households ▲ Siheung 400 households ▲ Seongnam 320 households. In Hwaseong, Bongdam Jungheung S-Class Central Edu (Bongdam-eup, 806 households) will see move-ins, while in Anyang, Anyang Xi The Forest (Seoksu-dong, 483 households) and Hillstate Anyang Pellus (Anyang-dong, 55 households) will move in side by side. With a concentration of supply in North Gyeongsang, move-ins are planned mainly for small and mid-sized complexes in regions such as Chungcheong and South Gyeongsang.
