Otak (OTAK), the U.S. subsidiary of HanmiGlobal, a global construction project management (PM) corporations, said on the 14th it has signed an IDIQ contract commissioned by the National Park Service (NPS) under the U.S. Department of the Interior. IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity) is a representative U.S. federal procurement contract type in which individual tasks are ordered as needed without setting quantities for a certain period.
The contract will run for five years from March to February 2031, and multiple participants will compete to carry out projects for a total workload valued at $400 million (about 600 billion won). Otak secured eligibility to participate continuously in the project alongside eight U.S.-leading global engineering corporations, including AECOM and JACOBS.
The project is a comprehensive design and engineering effort to improve and maintain aging infrastructure in national parks across the United States, including: ▲ replacement and improvement of water and sewage treatment facilities and systems ▲ replacement of building equipment and facilities ▲ renovation of visitor centers and housing facilities ▲ repair of roads, parking lots, and bridges. Service areas covered by the contract span the full range of engineering services, including project management, architectural and landscape design, civil/structural/electrical/mechanical/geotechnical engineering, surveying and mapping, environmental and cultural resource assessments, hazardous materials assessments, and construction cost estimation.
The contract signing is seen as the outcome of a localization strategy that HanmiGlobal has pursued steadily since acquiring Otak in 2011. Based on its U.S. local professionals and network, Otak has carried out various architectural engineering projects and maintained a cooperative relationship with the National Park Service for the past 20 years. Through this contract, Otak expects not only to further strengthen its partnership with NPS but also to secure stable revenue.
