Eugene Group will concentrate companywide capabilities to stabilize energy supply and demand and create a sustainable management environment.
Eugene Group said on the 10th it will fully roll out an "energy-saving campaign" with major affiliates including EUGENE Corporation, Tongyang, Eugene Investment & Securities, Eugene Hanil Synthetic Fiber, Eugene Home Center, and TXR Robotics.
The campaign was prepared to respond preemptively to rapidly changing internal and external energy conditions and to establish an energy-saving culture across the group beyond simple expense cuts. It was designed so employees can feel tangible effects in their daily work by identifying "customized action tasks" tailored to the operating conditions of each affiliate and business sites.
The campaign's key directions will focus on four areas: ▲ vehicle operation management ▲ office power savings ▲ maintaining appropriate heating and cooling temperatures ▲ other operational expense reductions.
Key actions include implementing a five-day vehicle rotation system, turning off lights during lunch, and switching unused PCs to power-saving mode. The group also plans to minimize energy waste by adhering to proper indoor temperatures, such as cooling at 26℃ or higher in summer and heating at 20℃ or lower in winter.
In tandem, it will pursue savings linked to work streamlining. The group will expand electronic documents and video conferences to reduce paper and travel expenses, turn off outdoor signs earlier, and improve efficiency in outsourcing and contracted services. Some business sites are also exploring more structural energy-efficiency measures, such as introducing hybrid vehicles for work use.
Eugene Group adopted a flexible execution approach that maintains the same direction through groupwide common action tasks while adjusting to the conditions of each business sites.
An Eugene Group official said, "This campaign reflects our intention to participate as a corporate citizen in a national energy crisis, and all employees will start together with small actions in their daily work," adding, "We will continue to expand energy-saving efforts and fulfill our role as a responsible company."
