Bidding closed for reconstruction contractors in Apgujeong districts 3 and 5 in Gangnam District, Seoul, and Mokdong complex 6 in Yangcheon District. Only Apgujeong district 5 had competitive bidding; the others failed.
According to the maintenance industry on the 10th, Hyundai Engineering & Construction and DL E&C participated in the reconstruction contractor bidding for Apgujeong district 5 (Apgujeong Hanyang phases 1 and 2), which closed that day. Apgujeong district 5, which is pursuing reconstruction through a fast-track integrated planning method, plans to build eight buildings with five basement levels to 68 above-ground floors, totaling 1,397 apartments. The association set the project cost at 1.496 trillion won.
For Apgujeong district 3 (Hyundai phases 1–7, 10, 13, 14, and Daerim Villart), which also closed the same day, only Hyundai Engineering & Construction participated alone, and the bid failed. Selection of a contractor is in principle by competitive bidding. If a sole bid fails twice or more, it can switch to a private contract. The Apgujeong district 3 reconstruction is a project to redevelop 3,934 aging apartments in the area of 393-1 Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, into a total of 5,175 units, with construction costs of 5.561 trillion won.
DL E&C was the only bidder for the Mokdong complex 6 reconstruction project, which is the fastest in schedule among the Mokdong reconstruction complexes. The complex, currently 20 stories above ground with 1,362 units, plans to be transformed through reconstruction into 14 buildings with two basement levels to a maximum of 49 above-ground floors, totaling 2,173 units. The association set the project cost at 1.2129 trillion won.
