Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) announced on its website on the 8th that it will reopen recruitment for a new president. According to the notice, LH will accept applications for a president with a three-year term from that day through the 16th. After the initial three-year term, the president may be reappointed in one-year increments depending on the results of a management performance evaluation. LH will form an executive recommendation committee and conduct interviews for candidates who pass the document screening.
Earlier, during the Yoon Suk-yeol administration in Nov. 2022, then-President Lee Han-jun of LH tendered a resignation about three months before the end of the term, but it was not accepted and the dismissal plan was approved on Oct. 30 last year. After that, LH recruited candidates for a new president in Nov. of the same year, and in Dec., the Nominating Committee recommended three candidates. However, the government was said to have rejected the slate because all of the candidates were insiders from LH.
