Proptech corporations Loca101 said on the 31st that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with LG Uplus to support the digital transformation of Pixel House operations and shared growth with franchise owners.
Founded in 2016, Loca101 develops and operates an AI-based small-building multi-tenant solution called "PXZ." As a corporations that internalized the entire process from real estate brokerage, permits, design, and construction to operations, it is currently building and operating 72 branches and 1,251 rooms of the co-living dormitory brand "Pixel House" for single-person households, and it posted a 0% closure rate with three consecutive years of profits recently. Recognized for this growth, it successfully attracted pre-Series A investment in Dec. 2023 from Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTEC) and others, and the cumulative branch investment amount, combining facility investments by franchises and company-run branches, is 21.6 billion won.
Through this agreement, the two companies agreed to cooperate on collaboration related to digital transformation services, expansion of market share, and revenue growth. LG Uplus will offer preferential terms on telecommunications fees and provide the AI Biz Call service to lower franchise owners' expense burden and raise work productivity by automating repetitive tasks.
Loca101 will adopt LG Uplus' message hub in its rental management program and AI chatbot currently under development to build an efficient communication system with residents. It also plans to link with LG Uplus' artificial intelligence contact center (AICC) to automate non-face-to-face tasks occurring at offline franchises. Through this, AI will handle tasks that require time and personnel—such as answering calls, managing reservations, and processing customer inquiries—and franchise owners will pursue digital transformation that lets them focus on improving customer service quality and profitability.
