Hyundai Engineering & Construction won the public redevelopment maintenance project for Singil District 1.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction said on the 30th that on the 28th, Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH), the project operator for Singil District 1, held a "residents' general meeting to select a construction company" and selected Hyundai Engineering & Construction as the construction company. The project will build apartment housing and ancillary welfare facilities with four basement levels to 45 above-ground floors, totaling 1,483 households, at 147-80 Singil-dong, Yeongdeungpo District, with total construction costs of 660.7 billion won.
The site was designated as Singil New Town in 2005, but the project was halted in 2017 when the redevelopment acceleration plan was lifted. It was then selected as a public redevelopment candidate site in 2021 and in 2025 signed a project implementation agreement with LH.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction proposed "Hillstate Singil Claon (HILLSTATE SINGIL CLAON)" as the complex name. Hyundai Engineering & Construction said the name combines "Clare," meaning "bright and clear," and "On," meaning "rise," symbolizing Singil's future value.
The project site has access to Singil Station on Subway Lines 1 and 5; Daebang Station, an interchange for Line 1 and the Sillim Line; and Seoul Regional Military Manpower Administration Station on the Sillim Line. The Sinansan Line is also scheduled to open, which is expected to improve access to Yeouido and downtown.
