POSCO E&C said on the 29th it will hold a companywide AI challenge competition to use artificial intelligence (AI) to change how employees actually work.
POSCO E&C organized the competition so all employees can learn the full scope of AI on their own and use it proactively.
It is also part of the group-level AX (AI transformation) strategy. POSCO Group views AI as a key factor that will determine future competitiveness and is actively using it to drive work innovation and create new value.
Through this competition, POSCO E&C plans to drive three changes: improving report-writing methods, innovating ways of working, and expanding AI use and organizational activation.
POSCO E&C prepared bold rewards for participants who deliver results. The top team in the "AI work automation" category will receive 10 million won in prize money, and outstanding winners in each field will also be offered overseas training opportunities, including a tour of Silicon Valley.
POSCO E&C began accepting applications on the 24th. The competition will run for about two months thereafter. After learning how to use AI through pre-training, participants will take part in the full-scale contest.
A POSCO E&C official said, "This challenge will serve as an opportunity to use AI not as a simple technology, but as a tool to change how we work," adding, "We will continue to support all employees so they can lead work innovation through hands-on experience."
