HJ Shipbuilding & Construction held a regular shareholders meeting on the 27th at its Namyeong Building headquarters in Seoul and appointed President Song Kyung-han as the new chief executive of the construction division.
Song, who took office that day, graduated from Kyunghee University with a degree in English literature and joined Dongbu Corporation in 1995, working across construction management, including human resources, outsourcing and procurement. In 2024, Song also served as CEO of Dongbu Engineering.
In an inaugural address, Song said, "It is an honor to take on the heavy responsibility of leading the renewed leap of the long-standing construction powerhouse HJ Shipbuilding & Construction," adding, "By establishing a nonnegotiable safety culture and leading revenue-driven management, we will be reborn as a sustainable construction company that does not waver in any crisis."
Meanwhile, at the shareholders meeting that day, six agenda items passed: ▲ approval of the 19th-term financial statements and consolidation financial statements ▲ partial amendment of the articles of incorporation ▲ appointment of directors ▲ appointment of outside directors ▲ appointment of audit committee members ▲ approval of the limit on directors' remuneration.
HJ Shipbuilding & Construction posted sales of 1.9997 trillion won, operating profit of 67.0 billion won and net profit of 51.4 billion won last year. For its 2026 business plan targets, the company set orders at 4.15 trillion won and sales at 2.65 trillion won, and said the construction division will pursue "safety-based sustainable growth management," while the shipbuilding division will pursue "sustainable revenue generation and soundness-focused management," committing full efforts to achieving the goals.
