HanmiGlobal, a domestic PM (project management) specialist in construction, said on the 25th that it held its 30th regular shareholders meeting at COEX in Gangnam District, Seoul, on the 24th and newly appointed Hwang Ju-ho, a former president of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) and a nuclear power expert, as an outside director.
Hwang, the new outside director, is regarded as a leading expert in Korea's nuclear power industry with experience spanning academia, research institutes, and public enterprises. After serving as a senior researcher at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Hwang worked as a professor in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at Kyunghee University, dean of the College of Engineering, vice president, and president of the Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER). Subsequently, from 2022 to 2025, as president of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. (KHNP), Hwang secured large-scale exports of nuclear power plants overseas, including the new nuclear project in the Czech Republic and projects in Romania and Egypt.
HanmiGlobal expects that Hwang's outstanding expertise and industry network will help strengthen the competitiveness of the company's new nuclear PM business. Last year, HanmiGlobal won the PM services contract for the life-extension project of Unit 1 at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant in Romania, and in January it signed a strategic partnership agreement for overseas nuclear projects with KEPCO Engineering & Construction Company (KEPCO E&C) and the United Kingdom's Turner & Townsend, accelerating the expansion of its nuclear business.
At the shareholders meeting, in addition to the new appointment of an outside director, proposals to enhance shareholder value and diversify the business also passed, including a confirmed cash dividend of 400 won per share, amendments to the articles of incorporation to enable quarterly dividends, and the addition of a new business purpose related to establishing and managing an investment fund for institutional investors.
A HanmiGlobal official said, "Outside Director Hwang Ju-ho will participate in deliberations and decision-making on key management matters and contribute to establishing nuclear business strategies and strengthening business competitiveness," adding, "With this appointment, we plan to solidify collaboration within the nuclear ecosystem and accelerate our push into the market by advancing PM technology."
