Huh Chang-soo, chairman of GS Engineering & Construction, was reappointed as an inside director at the regular shareholders meeting on the 24th, securing a ninth consecutive term.
GS Engineering & Construction held its 57th regular shareholders meeting at its Grand Seoul headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 24th and passed the agenda item to reappoint Chairman Huh. Chairman Huh's term runs through 2029.
GS Engineering & Construction also appointed Chief Safety Strategy Officer (CSSO) Kim Tae-jin as an inside director. The move is seen as aimed at strengthening safety-centered management. This is the first time at GS Engineering & Construction that the chief officer in charge of safety has been appointed as an inside director. Until now, the company maintained a two-person inside director system with Chairman Huh and CEO Huh Yoon-hong.
GS Engineering & Construction also approved as originally proposed the agendas for appointing outside directors and audit committee members, approving the limit on directors' remuneration, approving the financial statements, and a cash dividend of 500 won per share.
Huh Yoon-hong said, "We will raise execution in schedule and cost management based on safety and quality," adding, "We will strengthen the fundamentals and build future capabilities to enhance our competitiveness as a global corporation." He also said, "We will do our best to maximize shareholder value."
