The urban maintenance-type redevelopment district for long-term jeonse housing in the Gwangwoon University Station area in Nowon-gu, Seoul, will be lifted.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government said on the 19th that it held the 4th Urban Planning Committee meeting on the 18th and approved as originally proposed the plan to lift the redevelopment district and maintenance plan for long-term jeonse housing in the Gwangwoon University Station area in Nowon-gu.
The Gwangwoon University Station area maintenance district around 411-53 Wolgye-dong, Nowon-gu, was designated as a maintenance district in 2018. However, due to opposition to the project by some land and other owners, the project did not proceed because of insufficient consent.
Accordingly, in 2023, more than 30% of land and other owners requested an extension of the lifting deadline, and it was extended by two years until Oct. 31 last year. However, because the land and other owners did not apply for approval of the project implementation plan by the lifting deadline, the district will be lifted ex officio under Article 20, Paragraph 1, Subparagraph 3 of the Act on the Improvement of Urban Areas and Residential Environments, and areas that had been included in the existing district unit planning zone centered on the Wolgye living area will be restored.
Based on the outcome of this Urban Planning Committee meeting, the Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to officially announce the lifting of the district as soon as possible.
