Lotte E&C said on the 11th that two entries it submitted in the space and architecture institutional sector of Asia's largest design competition, the "ASIA DESIGN PRIZE 2026," were selected as Winners.
Founded in 2016, the "ASIA DESIGN PRIZE" is Asia's largest international design award, with more than 1,500 entries from 31 countries. It selects Asia's best designs by comprehensively evaluating aesthetics, originality, technical prowess, and sustainability across industry, space and architecture, and communication fields. Lotte E&C won Winner honors for the sunken garden at "VL Le West" in Magok-dong, Gangseo District, Seoul, and the ESG-themed children's playground series at "Wonju Lotte Castle Signature" in Bangok-dong, Wonju, Gangwon Province.
The sunken garden "Le West ROCK (樂) Garden" at "VL Le West" carries the meaning of wishing for the longevity and health of the silver generation. It is a multipurpose garden for rest, walking, and views, with the entire garden organized around circular sculptures that reinterpret trees and rocks. As a result, it has become the complex's main landmark and photo zone, where green open space blends with artificial rocks to create a sense of vitality.
The other award-winning work, the children's playground "EARTH SAVER," embodies ESG values. "Earth Saver" is a playground for environmental education that, with the idea of children protecting the Earth, helps residents of Lotte E&C apartments and their families build environmental sensitivity and consider ways to respond to climate change. "Earth Saver" creates diverse themes that express the sustainable value of nature, including recycling, foxes as an endangered species, and camellias and Japanese white-eyes as pollinators. It was also highly rated for offering varied play experiences, such as climate-adaptive landscape facilities using mist, QR codes containing climate change learning content, and play panels.
A Lotte E&C Design Research Institute official said, "This award recognizes on the international stage Lotte E&C's landscape design that considers all generations, from the silver generation to children, as a Lifetime Value Creator delivering the highest value across the entire life cycle."
