Dongbu Corporation said on the 6th that it won the contract for the "Hwarang-ro underpass construction in the Goyang Changneung public housing district in Gyeonggi Province," ordered by the Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH). The total project cost is about 73.8 billion won, and Dongbu Corporation is the lead contractor with 70% equity. The construction period is about 48 months from the groundbreaking date.
The project will build a four-lane, 19-meter-wide underpass with a total length of 1,414 meters in Yongdu-dong, Deokyang District, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. To improve traffic flow in the Goyang Changneung public housing district, which is being developed as a third new town, about 1.4 kilometers of the section will be grade-separated to improve the current at-grade intersection-centered traffic system.
In particular, the four-lane underpass, 19 meters wide, is planned with a structure that separates regional arterial traffic from local traffic, and is expected to help ease chronic congestion sections and ensure travel safety.
A Dongbu Corporation official said, "This award reflects comprehensive recognition of our technology, project management capability, and cost competitiveness," adding, "We will carry out the project with safety and quality as the top priority."
