Daekyo Apartment, which is moving the fastest through the reconstruction process in Yeouido, has entered the approval stage for the management and disposal plan.
The Yeouido Daekyo Apartment Reconstruction and Maintenance Association said on the 2nd that it held a regular general meeting at the Yeouido Hana Securities Building on the 28th to seek approval for the management and disposal plan, the first among Yeouido reconstruction complexes.
Attendees included Yeongdeungpo District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon, Heatherwick Studio, Samsung C&T, and reconstruction association heads from major complexes in Seoul.
The management and disposal plan was made available for residents' inspection for a month from Jan. 28 to Feb. 27. At the general meeting, the plan passed with 97.3% in favor, and the association plans to apply to the district office for approval.
Under the Daekyo Apartment reconstruction management and disposal plan, the site area is 26,869㎡ and the total floor area is 222,450㎡, with four tower buildings from five floors underground to 49 floors above ground, 912 units, auxiliary welfare facilities, and neighborhood living facilities.
At the general meeting, Thomas Heatherwick, head of Heatherwick Studio, the overseas specialty designer for Daekyo Apartment and a world-renowned British architect, personally attended and gave a presentation on the design concept to the owners. Thomas Heatherwick unveiled the results of the "Visioning Study," carried out from Nov. last year to Feb. this year to establish the design concept for the Daekyo Apartment reconstruction.
The design concept is "Seoul's mountains and their curves." Heatherwick Studio noted that Daekyo Apartment offers views of the gentle silhouettes of the mountains surrounding Seoul—rare in a global metropolis—and presented plans for four tower-type buildings with undulating contours and for the contours of the ground level.
