Gwanak District said on the 27th that the "decision on the maintenance plan and designation of the maintenance zone" for the Sillim 5 and Sillim 8 dwelling maintenance-type redevelopment projects was finalized by a Seoul Metropolitan Government notice. The area's draft maintenance plan was approved with amendments at the Seoul City Urban Planning Committee review in December and the maintenance plan was finalized that day.
Sillim 5 zone (around 412 Sillim-dong), near Seowon Station on the Sillim light rail line, will be redeveloped with buildings up to 34 stories and 3,973 households, including 624 public dwellings. A public pedestrian passage and an entry plaza will be arranged within the complex, and the walking environment along Munseong-ro 30-gil, the school route to nearby Sillim Elementary School, will be improved to enhance residents' pedestrian safety. The district plans to expand infrastructure such as a children's park and improve the residential environment by reallocating existing everyday social infrastructure.
Sillim 8 zone (around 650 Sillim-dong), on the sloped foothills of Gwanaksan Mountain, will also be transformed with buildings up to 33 stories and 2,257 households, including 340 public dwellings. With the maintenance plan finalized 12 years after the lifting of the planned maintenance zone designation, the zoning was upgraded to a Class 2 general residential area. Under the maintenance plan, a new detour access road will be built and Nangok-ro 26-gil will be widened.
