SK ecoplant and its high-tech plant institutional sector subsidiary SK ecoengineering said on the 25th that on the 24th they held the third master's degree commencement ceremony for the "High-Tech Solution Department" at the Samsung Academic Information Center on the Natural Sciences Campus of Sungkyunkwan University in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.
The High-Tech Solution Department is a Ministry of Education-approved master's program that SK ecoplant and SK ecoengineering launched in partnership with Sungkyunkwan University in 2022. It operates as a capability-building program for members that goes beyond simple commissioned education, allowing them to earn an official Master of Engineering degree upon graduation.
The curriculum centers on core competencies in advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), building information modeling (BIM), and Digital Twin, along with foundational technologies related to high-tech construction engineering, including construction of semiconductor manufacturing facilities (FAB).
The eight graduates in the third cohort have been assigned to semiconductor-related field roles and are performing their duties. The 11 graduates in the second cohort, produced last year, are also working in business institutional sectors related to semiconductors and AI data centers. The fourth cohort is currently under way, and selection for the fifth cohort is scheduled for the first half of this year.
In particular, this workforce placement is meaningful in terms of creating synergy with SK ecoengineering, which was recently incorporated as a 100% subsidiary of SK ecoplant. By sharing human resources who have completed the same educational program, the company expects to enhance expertise in project execution and strengthen technical integration.
An SK ecoplant official said, "Specialized talent is an important asset for achieving our vision as an AI infrastructure solution provider," adding, "We will deploy personnel who combine hands-on experience and theory across our core business institutional sectors to spread a positive, expertise-centered influence throughout the organization."
