Korea Developer Association said on the 25th that it nominated HM Group Chair Kim Han-mo as its seventh president through the 18th regular general meeting held at the association hall's main auditorium on Teheran-ro in Gangnam-gu.
New President Kim Han-mo entered the real estate industry in 2012 and built HM Group into a comprehensive developer corporations covering residential, commercial, cultural, and asset management.
In the industry, Chair Kim is regarded as a leading figure of the "second-generation developers" and a suitable person to serve as a bridge for a generational shift.
In an inaugural address that day, Chair Kim stressed, "In a difficult environment at home and abroad, the association must be a solid shoulder that member companies can lean on whenever they struggle," adding, "I will listen to members' voices from the lowest places and push through the roughest seas at the very front."
Kim presented three key tasks to protect members' rights and interests and overcome crises.
First, he said he would establish a "real estate development mutual aid association" to build an independent financial ecosystem. He said he would complete the establishment of the mutual aid association during his term to secure members' financial sovereignty.
He also promised to introduce a "verification system for development track records" to raise members' external credibility. Through a system that objectively proves developers' capabilities, he said the association would draw fair evaluations from financial institutions and government offices, establish a virtuous cycle of the association's financial independence, and strengthen support for member companies.
Kim said he would actively support members' "global market entry" to open the era of "K-developers." Kim said he would actively share overseas development know-how and global networks to help members overcome the limits of the domestic market and build a bridgehead to the world stage.
Korea Developer Association is a statutory organization based on Article 29 of the Act on the Management and Promotion of the Real Estate Development Business.
