Kumho E&C said on the 25th that it held a donation delivery ceremony with the Korea Pearl S. Buck Foundation, a social welfare corporation, at its headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The Korea Pearl S. Buck Foundation is a social welfare institution established in 1965 by Pearl S. Buck, author of the novel The Good Earth and recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature. The foundation has been working for more than 60 years to solve the difficulties faced by multicultural children and their families and to help them become self-reliant through professional welfare programs.
The donation was prepared to help adolescents from multicultural families grow as members of our society and to create a stable learning environment. Since 2004, Kumho E&C has been supporting adolescents from low-income multicultural families after forging ties with the Korea Pearl S. Buck Foundation. To date, a total of five students have graduated from high school with support from Kumho E&C, and this year two middle school students will receive educational support until they graduate from high school.
Kumho E&C President Cho Wan-seok said, "We are pleased to have watched the growth of children from multicultural families for a long time and to have been able to offer even a small measure of help," and added, "We will continue to explore ways to support multicultural families so they can take root stably in our society, making sure the warm sentiments the children have sent are not in vain."
