HDC Holdings Co. said on the 23rd that it named Shin Woo-cheol (58), former executive director at Sena Technologies, as executive vice president and CEO of HDC Hyundai EP.
Born in 1968, Shin is a global advanced materials specialist executive who began in 1996 at Samsung Cheil Industries' chemical business unit and has spent about 30 years at chemical and materials affiliates of Samsung Group and Lotte Group.
Shin served as head of the German subsidiary of Lotte Advanced Materials in 2018, oversaw the advanced materials business marketing at Lotte Chemical in 2023, and last year was executive director in charge of European sales at global telecommunications device company Sena Technologies.
Shin aims to take the company a step further by advancing the portfolio around high-value, high-function materials on top of the existing stable compounding business foundation.
An HDC Holdings Co. official said, "With extensive business operation experience spanning from basic chemicals to specialty materials and a deep understanding of the advanced materials industry overall, Shin is the right person to strengthen HDC Hyundai EP's business competitiveness and expand its growth base."
HDC Hyundai EP is an advanced materials corporations that produces engineering plastics essential for the automotive, electrical and electronics, and construction industries, and last year posted 992.6 billion won in revenue and 49.5 billion won in operating profit.
