Daewoo Engineering & Construction said on the 19th that on the 13th it held the "Daewoo Engineering & Construction in goyurye" ceremony, in which labor and management jointly presented hard hats to new employees.
"Goyurye" refers to a ritual that informs the community of the meaning and resolve before starting an important task or facing a major change. Daewoo Engineering & Construction reinterpreted the spirit of goyurye to fit the company's situation, held a pledge reading and a hard-hat presentation, and emphasized its determination to make safety the top priority through hard hats symbolizing the responsibility of builders and respect for life.
Chief Executive Kim Bo-hyeon and Labor Union Chairperson Sim Sang-cheol attended the event and personally placed hard hats on the new employees.
A Daewoo Engineering & Construction official said, "Through this goyurye, we prepared this event with the hope that it would serve as a meaningful starting point to go beyond merely taking a first step as members of society, to recall the countless sites and structures we will create in the future and the lives that will be contained within them, and to reflect on one's own role and resolve."
