Seoul City said on the 18th it will support the expense for environmental improvements in "exemplary management complexes" to boost the welfare of apartment complex management workers and promote harmony among residents.
From the 19th to on the 13th of next month, the city will accept applications for exemplary management complexes from apartment complexes located in Seoul, review them, and provide up to 30 million won per complex.
Selected complexes can carry out projects suited to their characteristics, such as improving rest areas for management workers, repairing resident community facilities, and operating community programs.
Eligible applicants are apartment complexes in Seoul subject to mandatory management that have 2025 usage records for the electronic approval system "S-APT" and have incorporated "regulations to prevent harassment of workers" into their apartment management rules.
Support items include ▲ installation of air conditioners and air purifiers in rest areas for management workers ▲ repairs to community facilities such as senior centers and purchases of shared equipment ▲ operation of programs to revitalize the community, among others, and can be chosen at the complex's discretion depending on conditions.
Apartment complexes wishing to participate should complete the application under the joint name of the residents' representative council and the management entity and submit it to the district office. Seoul City plans to finalize the selection of supported complexes through a review committee in March.
Now in its fifth year, the support program for exemplary management complexes in apartment housing has been expanding annually. Starting with 31 complexes in 2022, 159 complexes received subsidies in 2025, and about 3.7 billion won has been invested in a total of 317 complexes over the past four years.
Choi Jin-seok, head of the Seoul City dwellings bureau, said, "Apartment complex management workers are important members responsible for residents' safety and a pleasant living environment," and added, "We will continue to expand support for exemplary complexes to foster a work environment where management workers are respected and to enhance communication and harmony among apartment complex members."
