Hoban Group launched a safety and health management advisory panel with outside experts. The goal is to strengthen on-site safety management capabilities.
Hoban Group said on the 5th that it held a launch ceremony for the safety and health management advisory panel at its headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the 4th. About 60 people attended, including Hoban Construction's General President Park Cheol-hee, Hoban Construction's Head of Construction Safety Division Byeon Bu-seop, Hoban Industry CEO Kim Yong-il, related department employees, and outside advisory members.
The advisory panel launching this time consists of nine outside experts from fields including safety, law, and academia. It will more objectively check the level of on-site safety management and advise on systems and overall operations.
Through a regular quarterly meeting, the advisory panel plans to share key safety and health issues and, through ad hoc consulting, support improvements to safety and health policies and system operations for Hoban Group's construction affiliates. Its main roles are: ▲ review of the safety and health management system and related laws and regulations ▲ operational improvements through case analysis ▲ advice on spreading a safety culture and safety management strategy ▲ safety special lectures and professional training support for executives and employees.
Hoban Construction and Hoban Industry are adopting and using various artificial intelligence (AI) and smart safety technologies to improve on-site safety management. By applying advanced technologies such as an AI multilingual simultaneous interpretation system, AI construction equipment worker recognition devices, and emergency evacuation broadcast devices, they are steadily enhancing safety. They are also continuously strengthening safety management activities, including on-site safety and health inspections, regular training for supervisors, and intensive management systems for high-risk sites.
In addition, Hoban Construction was selected as an exemplary case of safety management at a safety management meeting hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) last year and drew attention by detailing its specific activities. Hoban Industry also earned the top grade of "very excellent" in the 2025 public construction safety management level evaluation released by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport last month.
A Hoban Group official said, "We introduced the advisory panel to further raise the level of on-site safety management and establish a prevention-centered safety culture," and added, "With the objective and professional perspective of outside experts, we will review and supplement on-site operating systems and continue to strengthen our safety management capabilities."
