Lotte Construction said on the 18th that it won the redevelopment project for Garak Geukdong Apartment in Songpa District, Seoul, as its first urban renewal project of the year.
The Garak Geukdong Apartment reconstruction will create apartments and ancillary welfare facilities across 12 buildings with 3 underground floors to 35 above-ground floors, totaling 999 households, at 192 Garak-dong in Songpa District. The total construction cost is about 484 billion won.
Lotte Construction will apply its high-end brand LEEL to the reconstruction complex. It is the 16th business sites to bear the LEEL name.
For the exterior design, it will collaborate with global architecture firm JERDE, and arrange green spaces that include a 1.5-kilometer circular promenade and gardens with three themes. To enhance residential and lifestyle convenience, it will also build ancillary facilities such as community spaces with five themes and retail space.
Residents will have access to pleasant natural environments such as Gaerong Neighborhood Park, Ogeum Neighborhood Park, and Olympic Park, as well as lifestyle infrastructure including Garden Five, Lotte World Mall, and Garak Market. Gaerong Station on subway Line 5 is within walking distance, and Ogeum Station (Lines 3 and 5) is also nearby.
A Lotte Construction official said, "We plan to bring the construction expertise Lotte Construction has accumulated to the Garak Geukdong Apartment reconstruction project," adding, "We will complete a premium landmark complex in Songpa District, Seoul, and deliver innovative residential value."
