Daewoo E&C said on the 15th that it will collaborate with "Meier Architects" of the United States to design the Seongsu 4 District redevelopment project.
Meier Architects is a firm founded by Richard Meier, a world-renowned master who won the Pritzker Architecture Prize, known as the Nobel Prize of architecture, in 1984. It designed landmarks in major cities around the world, including the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, the Ara Pacis Museum in Rome, and the Getty Center in LA.
Daewoo E&C plans to reflect Meier Architects' design philosophy not only in the exterior of the complex but also throughout space layout, circulation, and community planning.
A Daewoo E&C official said, "The collaboration with Meier Architects is a process of designing the future value of the city of Seongsu together, beyond simple design differentiation," adding, "We will complete Seongsu 4 District, combined with Daewoo E&C's high-end residential know-how, as a landmark that draws the world's attention."
