SH held the "final briefing on research into properly reflecting safety management expenses and promoting the use of smart safety equipment" at its headquarters on the 8th. The Korea Research Institute for Construction Policy is conducting this study from September 2025 to this month, and it focused on finding effective institutional improvement plans that can be applied in the field in line with the government's strengthened safety policy stance.

At the briefing, the research team presented alternatives to understand the current status of safety management expenses and to settle the system for smart safety equipment. It proposed an appropriate level of management fees for safety management expenses applied at construction sites, such as labor costs and facility safety input expenses. Incentives were also proposed to activate smart safety equipment, including a pre-announced legislative notice to create safety management expenses as a building surcharge item.

SH and the Construction Association of Korea Seoul Chapter plan to apply the proposals derived from this research service when improving systems and establishing guidelines going forward.

Hwang Sang-ha, SH president, said, "This study is meaningful in that it sought an institutional path to resolve the difficulties of executing safety management expenses in the field and the barriers to introducing technology," adding, "We will closely review the suggestions presented and advance SH-style safety management guidelines."
