WOOMI Construction Co. has appointed President Gwak Su-yun as its new CEO.
WOOMI Construction Co. said on the 30th that with the appointment of the new CEO Gwak, it will operate under a system of three individual CEOs, including CEO Kim Young-gil and CEO Kim Seong-cheol. WOOMI Construction Co. explained that it appointed CEO Gwak to maintain a stable growth trajectory and to strengthen its digital transformation and future business foundation.
The new CEO Gwak graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in architecture and joined Daelim Construction (now DL E&C) in 1992, where Gwak served as head of the management innovation division and head of the dwellings and building business division, among other roles. Gwak also served as CEO of DL Construction. Gwak joined WOOMI Construction Co. last year as an adviser and has advised on the company's mid- to long-term strategy and growth direction.
Gwak presented "establishing a sustainable growth system through the advancement of core competencies" as next year's management policy. Gwak plans to proactively respond to the construction environment by boosting organization-wide synergies through AI- and data-based process innovation and by strengthening professional capabilities.
Meanwhile, former CEO Bae Young-han, who joined WOOMI Construction Co. as an adviser in 2017 and has served as CEO since 2020, was appointed as a full-time adviser.
