Hanwha Construction said on the 30th it was selected on the 29th as the preferred bidder for the 584.8 billion won "Suyeong sewage treatment plant modernization project."
The project will modernize the existing public sewage treatment facility in Dongnae-gu, Busan, due to performance degradation caused by increased influent concentration and aging. The existing facility will be placed underground, and the ground level will be developed into rest areas that include recreational sports facilities and cultural spaces.
Through this project, Hanwha Construction will build a sewage treatment facility with a daily capacity of 280,000 tons and a sludge treatment facility with a daily capacity of 380,000 tons. The construction is scheduled to run for 96 months from the start date.
The project will use a build-transfer-operate adjusted (BTO-a) model with profit-and-loss sharing, with Hanwha Construction handling construction and Eco E&OH, a subsidiary of Hanwha, operating the facility for the next 30 years.
