Hanwha's construction division said on the 24th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) on the 23rd to introduce a next-generation "ceiling-mounted electric vehicle charging system" on a trial basis for the first time.

At the agreement ceremony held at LH's headquarters in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province, attendees included Park Gwang-ho, head of the building support office at Hanwha's construction division, and Choi Han-bong, head of the public housing electricity division at LH, along with officials from both sides.

The agreement aims to pilot Hanwha's next-generation ceiling-mounted electric vehicle charging system, "EV Air Station," at LH complexes. It will first be applied to the Gwacheon S11 block (BL) Happy Housing and the Daegu Yeonho A2BL apartment complex.

EV Air Station is the first domestic electric vehicle charging system in which a connector automatically descends from the ceiling. The product applies intelligent power distribution technology to charge three vehicles simultaneously with a single charger, enhancing space efficiency and user convenience.

The product improved both the "fire risk" and "charger shortage" issues of existing electric vehicle charging facilities and won the "Best Innovation Award" at the 2025 Future Innovation Technology Expo.

The model is equipped with ▲ fire detection sensors ▲ fire detection cameras ▲ PLC (Power Line Communication) functionality that enables battery-charger information exchange, allowing early detection of abnormal signs and preemptive blocking of fire risks.

Existing electric vehicle charging facilities faced installation challenges due to space occupancy and power supply issues. However, EV Air Station utilizes the ceiling for flexible installation and improves space occupancy and power supply issues while maximizing operating efficiency with power distribution technology.

Hanwha's construction division plans to fully introduce EV Air Station to "Hanwha Foresta" complexes starting next year. Through this cooperation with LH, it expects to expand the scope of application to the public housing market.

Choi Han-bong, head of LH's public housing electricity division, said, "Expanding electric vehicle charging facilities and strengthening safety management are essential tasks for public housing," adding, "We will create safe and pleasant residential complexes in collaboration with Hanwha's construction division."

Park Gwang-ho, head of the building support office at Hanwha's construction division, said, "As customer demand grows for a safe and convenient electric vehicle charging environment, we will lead a smart residential culture through differentiated technological prowess."
