Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) said on the 23rd that it signed a land sale contract on the 22nd with the Korea AeroSpace Administration to build the main headquarters within the Gyeongnam Aerospace National Industrial Complex.
The Korea AeroSpace Administration is Korea's first central government agency dedicated to space and aviation. The government complex will be built on the A4BL site, a 69,615-square-meter plot within the "Gyeongnam Aerospace National Industrial Complex" Sacheon district. The complex will include infrastructure and workspaces for carrying out space and aviation missions, as well as a public relations and exhibition space.
The Gyeongnam Aerospace National Industrial Complex (Jinju district and Sacheon district) has a total area of 1.65 million square meters, and after approval and public notice of the industrial complex plan on May 2017, the second-phase project was completed in Sep. this year, finishing site preparation for the use of industrial land.
LH plans to focus on creating a space-aviation convergence industry ecosystem by concentrating various support facilities for nurturing the space and aviation industry and related public infrastructure near the Korea AeroSpace Administration complex.
Efforts to attract key anchor corporations are also continuing. In the Jinju district of the complex, Hana Aerodynamics, a pivotal corporation in the space and aviation field, completed land acquisition this month with the goal of starting up production facilities in the first half of 2027. In the Sacheon district, Leader in Aviation Co., Ltd. and CAMP Co., Ltd. have also finalized land contracts and are preparing to break ground.
Im Do-sik, head of LH's Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters, said, "We will do our best to make the Gyeongnam Aerospace National Industrial Complex a core platform for national strategic industries so it can establish itself as the central region of Korea's space and aviation industry centered on the Korea AeroSpace Administration complex."
