The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said Vice Minister Kim Ei-tak presided over the second "dwellings market and supply measures review meeting" on the 22nd in the afternoon to closely manage the progress of key policies in the dwellings and land sectors, including follow-up measures for the Sept. 7 supply expansion plan.
Held under Vice Minister Kim's lead, this meeting body convenes biweekly based on the recognition that ensuring the seamless execution of tasks to expand dwellings supply is paramount for stabilizing people's housing, and it launched on the 8th. Attendees included the head of the Dwellings and Land Office, the director-general for dwellings policy, the director-general for land policy, the head of the public dwellings promotion team, the head of the dwellings policy division, the head of the land policy division, and the head of the public housing site planning division.
At the meeting, they first reviewed the status of implementing tasks related to housing site supply among the follow-up measures to the Sept. 7 plan. Briefed on plans to start construction on more than 50,000 units in public housing sites in the greater Seoul area and on introducing a package system to expedite compensation, Vice Minister Kim said, "Ensure thorough project management so construction can proceed without a hitch on schedule, and provide the public with detailed information on specific project timelines, including compensation, groundbreaking, and sales."
After reviewing the plan to accelerate supply in southern Seoul (Seoripul in Seocho District, Gwacheon District in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi) and the upcoming schedule, Vice Minister Kim also stressed communication, saying, "The success or failure of the project hinges on managing conflicts through sufficient dialogue with stakeholders."
Vice Minister Kim then reviewed next year's plan to push forward the urban public dwellings complex project. He emphasized, "Because the urban public dwellings complex project is an effective policy tool for expanding urban supply, let's strengthen cooperation with the National Assembly to abolish the sunset clause," while also saying, "Let's further accelerate the projects already underway in cooperation with the LH Special Headquarters for Dwellings Supply Promotion."
Kim also received a briefing on the progress of the LH Reform Committee, which launched on Aug. 28, and requested, "Please spare no necessary support so that discussions on LH reform plans through the LH Reform Committee can proceed swiftly."
In addition to reviewing the progress of various other tasks, Vice Minister Kim concluded the review meeting by encouraging officials, saying, "If we dispel public doubts about supply through swift follow-up measures to the supply plan and instill confidence in future supply, we can contribute to market stability," and, "Next year as well, let's unite all policy officials in the dwellings and land sectors to steadfastly push forward the follow-up measures to the supply plan."
