Hoban Construction will work with Samsung C&T to advance a smart community platform for multifamily housing.
Hoban Construction said on the 22nd that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 19th at Hoban Park in Seocho-gu, Seoul, with the construction institutional sector of Samsung C&T to build "Hoban ON by Homeniq." At the signing ceremony, more than 10 officials from both companies attended, including Moon Gap, head of management at Hoban Construction, and Executive Vice President Lee Ju-yong of Samsung C&T.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to unveil "Hoban ON by Homeniq" by combining Hoban Construction's "HOBAN ON," a smart community platform for multifamily housing under development, with "Homeniq," which Samsung C&T is operating.
Hoban Construction will oversee the planning and introduction of the "Hoban ON by Homeniq" platform and drive its rollout to business sites and technology integration. Samsung C&T will provide the technology and services of the "Homeniq" platform and support feature enhancement, joint brand operations, and new service development.
Residents moving into newly built complexes by Hoban Group's construction affiliates, including Hoban Construction and Hoban Industry, will be able to conveniently use a single app for not only basic smart home functions such as checking maintenance fees, remotely controlling lighting and home appliances, and delivery notifications, but also a variety of daily convenience services such as community facility reservations, visitor vehicle registration, in-unit fire inspections, and group purchases.
Moon Gap, head of management at Hoban Construction, said, "Residential platforms are expanding beyond simple convenience features into services that support all aspects of residents' daily lives," adding, "With this agreement as a starting point, we will continue to expand a smart residential environment that residents can feel."
Executive Vice President Lee Ju-yong of Samsung C&T said, "By collaborating with Hoban Construction, we plan to provide comprehensive residential convenience to residents, continuously discover diverse residential innovation solutions, strengthen the two companies' technological cooperation, and elevate Homeniq's brand stature."
