Kim Seong-eun, CEO of Deokjin General Construction, was elected as the 14th president of the Korea Housing Builders Association.
At 10:30 a.m. on the 18th, the association held its 36th regular general meeting in the Grand Ballroom on the first floor of the FKI Tower in Yeouido, with representatives (delegates) from more than 200 member companies in attendance, and elected a new president and other executives.
Kim, the new president and head of the Ulsan–South Gyeongsang chapter, ran unopposed and was elected without a vote. The new president's term is three years and begins on Jan. 1 next year.
Kim, the new president, said, "As the housing market contracts due to the prolonged downturn in the real economy, I am assuming a heavy responsibility at a difficult time when the business environment for mid-sized and small housing construction companies is worsening by the day," and added, "Based on my experience serving as an association executive, I will make every effort so that member companies can wisely overcome the current crisis and contribute to improving the public's residential standards and the development of the housing industry."
