Song Chi-young, president of POSCO E&C, visited the construction site for the Sinansan Line at Yeouido Station in Seoul, where one worker was killed, and apologized. The Sinansan Line section 4-2, where the accident occurred, is a business sites built by POSCO E&C.
Song arrived at the site at about 6:05 p.m. and said, "As the company's top official, I bow my head and offer a deep apology for the death of a precious colleague in the accident." He added, "After the tunnel collapse on the Sinansan Line in Apr., we have carried out companywide safety reinforcement measures to prevent a recurrence," and said, "We take it very seriously that another serious accident has occurred."
Song said, "We are thoroughly investigating the cause of the accident with the relevant authorities, and the company will cooperate faithfully and transparently throughout the entire process. We will not evade responsibility and will fulfill it."
Song said, "We will responsibly provide all necessary support to the bereaved family to the end and communicate fully," and added, "Once again, we pray for the deceased and offer our deepest apology to the bereaved family and the public."
