GS Engineering and Construction said on the 15th that it held the participatory safety communication program "Safety Companion Workshop" on the 12th.
About 100 executives and employees, partner company managers, and workers gathered at an apartment construction site in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province, to seek safety improvements. Employees from the headquarters' safety management department, along with partner company managers and on-site workers from various trades, took part.
GS Engineering and Construction met with partner company managers and workers before the workshop to hear about on-site challenges and improvement ideas. Based on the feedback, the workshop proceeded as a group discussion where participants freely debated areas for improvement. In addition, safety experiences such as CPR and fire extinguisher training were also conducted.
At the event, various ideas were generated, including introducing a focused management system for tasks with drop risks around quitting time, when workers' concentration declines. Going forward, GS Engineering and Construction plans to apply the ideas derived through collaboration between headquarters and the field to actual operations.
A GS Engineering and Construction official said, "We will continue to work to implement the proposed ideas at actual sites."
