The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said on the 15th that, together with Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH), it had selected four winning entries in the contest "A new LH made with the public," which sought ideas related to LH reform.
A total of 392 policy ideas were submitted. To ensure a practical link to LH reform, the LH Reform Committee selected finalists, conducted a public review of them, and confirmed four winners. There is one grand prize, one top excellence award, and two excellence awards.
The grand prize went to an upcycling living town for young entrepreneurs that uses nonperforming loans (NPLs). By analyzing real estate collateral NPLs in advance using artificial intelligence (AI) and data, the plan calls for purchasing land at a reasonable level compared with the market price, and, reflecting the segmented demand of young entrepreneurs, building public housing on the purchased land with lower floors as work and collaboration space and upper floors as residential space for young entrepreneurs. The aim is to address the problem of rising land acquisition expense for urban sites related to public housing supply.
The top excellence award went to a community-based welfare town model that integrates housing, care, and employment. It proposes a welfare town where diverse groups live together in public housing and can receive constant care services, combined with employment and culture such as senior cafes, social cooperatives, and shared kitchens and libraries for residents.
An excellence award went to "National quality supervision team (QC-Call) - citizen-participation field supervision system." It proposes building a QC (Quality Check)-Call platform that allows real-time, anonymous reporting of on-site safety and quality issues, automatically recognizes risk factors in reported images, and achieves visible quality control by disclosing the report details and response process in a timeline format.
Another excellence award went to a smart housing ladder integrated platform for stable housing for young people and newlyweds. It proposes building an integrated housing platform that provides services recommending the optimal housing type by life stage and offers a one-stop solution for subscription applications, loans, and digital contracts.
The award ceremony will be held on the afternoon of the 16th at the HJ Heavy Industries headquarters, where the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT)-LH joint dwellings supply task force (TF) is located. Kim Ei-tak, first vice minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the acting president of Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH), Lee Sang-uk, will attend and personally present the certificates. In addition, to further raise the feasibility of the ideas and seek ways to link them to LH reform, the LH Reform Committee and the winners will also meet that day to discuss specific directions for implementation.
