The "2025 Housing Construction Day" event, co-hosted by the Korea Housing Builders Association, the Korea Housing Association, and the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) and supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, was held at 3 p.m. on the 11th at the CG Art Hall on the 2nd floor of the Construction Hall in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Despite difficult business conditions for dwellings projects, the event, prepared to encourage and celebrate the efforts of more than 8,000 dwellings builders nationwide who have devoted themselves to improving the housing standards of the public and developing the dwellings industry, was a great success, with more than 300 dwellings builders from across the country joining dignitaries from political and government circles and other guests.
At the event, government commendations and Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport awards were presented to 48 people, including dwellings builders and officials of dwellings construction organizations who made significant contributions to the development of the dwellings industry. The recipients included three Order of Industrial Service Merit medals (one Gold Tower and two Silver Tower), six Industrial Service Medals, six Presidential Citations, nine Prime Minister's Citations, and 24 Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Citations.
The Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit went to CEO Choi Byeong-ho of Samgu Construction. The Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit was awarded to two people: Chair Lee Gwon-su of Goun Construction and CEO Yoon Jin-oh of Dongbu Corporation.
In addition, six people received Industrial Service Medals: CEO Noh Gi-won of Taeyang E&C; CEO Lee Ki-dong of Kyungnam Enterprises Co., Ltd.; CEO Kang Young-uk of Kyobo Realco; executive director Kim Do-hyung of Samsung C&T; CEO Yoon Tae-yong of Geumo General Construction; and executive director Kim Hong-jae of Doosan Engineering & Construction Co.
Presidential Citations went to six people: CEO Choi Dong-uk of Halla Gongyoung; CEO Moon Jong-seok of Daeshin Construction; executive director Kim Yong-nam of HDC Hyundai Development Company; Director General Jang Cha-yeon of the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG); CEO Kim Hyun-joo of Hana General Construction; and deputy department head Park Byung-gyu of Hanshin Engineering & Construction.
Prime Minister's Citations were awarded to nine people: CEO Lee Dong-tae of Joeunjip; senior manager Song Jeong of Kumho E&C; CEO Lee Jin-su of Boram General Construction; Director General Jeong Yi-hyeong of Kolon GLOBAL; CEO Hwang In-hee of Daon Development; Director General Ahn Gwan-su of DL E&C; CEO Lee Seung-hee of iHope; site manager Kim Ju-wan of SK ecoplant; and associate executive director Kim Jin-taek of HDC Hyundai Development Company.
