Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) said on Dec. 9 that it donated a joint fund of 450 million won prepared with Woori Bank, Hana Bank and Kyongnam Bank to support households facing livelihood crises at year's end.

LH delivered the donation to the Housing Welfare Foundation at LH headquarters in Jinju that day. LH provided 300 million won, and Woori, Hana and Kyongnam Bank each provided 50 million won.

The donation will be used to help vulnerable groups, including tenants living in LH rental housing who are facing eviction after long-term arrears of rent due to unavoidable reasons such as job loss, illness or accidents. Eligible households are selected through the "LH Housing Support Committee," which is made up of housing welfare experts from local governments, academia and NGOs.

The handover ceremony was attended by Cho Kyong-suk, head of LH's Housing Welfare Division, Lee Min-gu, head of Woori Bank's South Gyeongsang Business Headquarters, Lim Jae-mun, head of Kyongnam Bank's Western Capital Area Business Group, Heo Jang-young, manager of Hana Bank's Jinju branch, and Lim Hyun-suk, director at the Housing Welfare Foundation.

Since 2020, LH has worked with various institutions to support tenants facing livelihood crises. Including this donation, the cumulative amount has reached 2.21 billion won.

Cho said, "I hope this donation will help tenant households going through difficult times recover their daily lives and support self-sufficiency," adding, "We will continue to expand support in collaboration with various institutions to help vulnerable groups overcome housing crises."
