SK ecoplant on the 4th carried out an organizational reshuffle focused on building a foundation for future growth. It centered on strengthening the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) business model in artificial intelligence (AI) and improving execution of its businesses.
Beyond its existing high-tech business, SK ecoplant will create an AI solutions business organization to maximize synergy when performing EPC in the AI field. To that end, it will integrate the solutions business organization, which handles EPC in building, civil engineering and plants, with the energy business organization, which oversees AI data centers, fuel cells and renewable energy.
A separate AI innovation unit will be placed under the president to accelerate AI strategy development and companywide transformation.
The company will also upgrade its enterprise risk management system. It will reorganize the existing Business Risk Management (BRM) Center by bringing the safety and quality organizations under it to create an integrated control body. To strengthen SHE (safety, health and environment) capabilities and support optimized decision-making, it will also run a safety and quality committee with outside experts.
Executive appointments made alongside the reshuffle reflect a push to strengthen on-site execution. Along with a generational shift, key talent in business and field operations were actively promoted. The company also implemented rotation between executives in staff and business organizations.
An SK ecoplant official said, "Under the policy of shifting our business portfolio, we will strengthen core business capabilities through the reorganization and build a solid foundation for sustainable growth."
