DL E&C and the construction division of Samsung C&T formed a consortium and won the urban public housing complex project for the Jeungsan 4 district in Jeungsan-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul.
According to the construction industry on the 30th, the residents' representative council for the Jeungsan 4 district urban complex project held a general meeting the previous day and selected the DL E&C–Samsung C&T construction division consortium as the builder.
The Jeungsan 4 district urban public housing project will redevelop the area around 205-33 Jeungsan-dong, which currently has 1,956 households, into a new apartment complex with up to 41 floors, 34 buildings, and 3,509 households.
The planned construction cost is 1.9435 trillion won. The participation ratios of DL E&C and Samsung C&T are 53% (1.0301 trillion won) and 47% (913.4 billion won), respectively.
With this order, the cumulative urban renewal orders this year for DL E&C and the construction division of Samsung C&T have each surpassed 3 trillion won and 9 trillion won.
The DL E&C–Samsung C&T construction division consortium proposed "Diatus" as the new complex name to the Jeungsan 4 district residents' representative council.
Introduced in 2021, the urban complex project is a method to accelerate supply by having the public sector lead redevelopment of aging inner-city areas where private renewal is difficult, granting benefits such as higher floor area ratios, to expand the supply of dwellings in high-demand urban areas.
Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) participates as the public-led project executor, and construction companies handle only the contracted work of design and construction under the private participation method.
