HDC Hyundai Development Company said on the 24th that it earned an integrated A grade for the second straight year in the 2025 ESG evaluation and ratings announcement by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS).
KCGS is Korea's leading ESG evaluation agency and assigns seven grades (S, A+, A, B+, B, C, D) by comprehensively assessing the levels of environment (E), social (S), and governance (G) for 805 major domestic listed companies.
HDC Hyundai Development Company has steadily raised its integrated rating from C in 2022 to B+ in 2023 and A in 2024, and it maintained its upper-tier position in the industry by receiving an A grade in 2025. In particular, this year it received A+ grades in both the environment and social categories.
In detail, HDC Hyundai Development Company drew up plans to reduce carbon emissions by considering various scenarios and reduced greenhouse gas and waste emissions for three consecutive years. It also strengthened management standards from 2024 to minimize environmental impact during construction, managed and disclosed emissions and usage data in a systematic manner, and advanced its systems.
Based on these efforts, HDC Hyundai Development Company received an A+ grade in the environment category, one step higher than last year, according to the company. In the social category, it maintained its A+ grade from last year by improving policies on consumer rights and interests, supply chain management for partners, and human rights management.
An HDC Hyundai Development Company official said, "We will continue to enhance corporate value by pushing a mid- to long-term carbon neutrality roadmap, the core of ESG management, strengthening human rights and supply chain management systems, and improving shareholder returns and governance transparency."
Based on these evaluation results, HDC Hyundai Development Company plans to pursue key tasks including ◇ systematizing responses to climate change ◇ strengthening on-site safety and health management ◇ establishing human rights and supply chain inspection systems ◇ enhancing transparency in the operation of the board of directors and committees.
