Hanwha construction division said on the 21st that it carried out a "small business owners' aging store environment improvement" activity with the Seoul Metropolitan Government Training Institute for Technical Education and Jung-gu Office in Seoul on the 17th to 20th of this month.
This activity is part of a business agreement on "construction technology education and aging store environment improvement" signed by the three institutions in Aug. It was prepared so that trainees in the construction field can gain hands-on experience in the field while contributing to improving the store environments of local small business owners.
More than 50 trainees from the "building maintenance department" and "digital content design department" at the eastern campus of the Seoul Metropolitan Government Training Institute for Technical Education have been taking courses since Sept. in the construction technology field (tile, masonry, plastering, painting, furniture, wood construction) and the design field (advertising, package, sign, 3D content production). Based on the skills they acquired through the training, they directly took part in improving the environments of aging stores such as restaurants and hair salons in Jung-gu.
Hanwha construction division worked with the Training Institute to establish store improvement plans such as "customized design consulting" and "optimization of customer flow and space utilization" and provided necessary materials. Based on this, trainees carried out interior and design work inside and outside, including ▲ installation of insulation film ▲ installation of floor sheet ▲ interior and exterior painting ▲ replacement of signs and banners.
The head of Mijo Hair, who took part in the store improvement, said, "I was satisfied as I received proposals that carefully reflected the shop's characteristics and preferences and continued to share opinions while making improvements," and added, "After finishing the maintenance that had been put off, the shop looks much better, and I feel proud."
Jeon Chang-su, head of human resources support at Hanwha construction division, said, "Through this activity, we hope the trainees gained on-site experience and that merchants improved inconvenient store environments for practical help," and added, "We will strengthen sustainable management that contributes to society based on the capabilities of a construction company."
