DL E&C said on the 18th that it has completed the Gasan AI Data Center in Gasan-dong, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul.
The project was ordered by Pacific asset Management and operated by kt cloud, with DL E&C in charge of construction.
Construction on the data center began in Jun. 2022 and was completed in May this year, followed by containment work to improve server cooling efficiency, and a launch ceremony was held on the 5th.
The Gasan AI Data Center was built with a total floor area of 36,501 square meters (11,042 pyeong), from five underground floors to 10 aboveground floors. It is a large data center with a total receiving capacity of 40 megawatts (MW) and an IT capacity of 26 MW. This is the second data center built by DL E&C.
DL E&C plans to continue strengthening its construction capabilities in next-generation digital fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, and data infrastructure through this project.
In particular, based on a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with kt cloud for data center development, the two companies plan to continue all-around collaboration, including site discovery, project development, and technology cooperation. Data center construction is also underway in the Gyeonggi region.
A DL E&C official said, "We plan to lead the future construction market by concentrating our technology and construction capabilities through the establishment of AI- and cloud-based advanced infrastructure."
