SK ecoplant posted 157.4 billion won in operating profit on a consolidation basis in the third quarter of this year, returning to the black.
According to SK ecoplant's quarterly report on the 14th, the company's third-quarter sales rose 65% year over year to 3.2483 trillion won. Quarterly net profit turned positive at 706.5 billion won.
The company said results from the Cheongju M15X fab (Fab) and the first phase of the Yongin semiconductor cluster project were reflected as the semiconductor business shifted into full gear. SK ecoplant also noted that strong results from Essencore, a semiconductor module company consolidated as a subsidiary last year, and SK airplus, an industrial gas manufacturer, contributed.
SK ecoplant plans to complete the inclusion of four corporations under SK materials CIC in Dec. and further solidify its position as a "comprehensive semiconductor service corporations" covering everything from semiconductor material production to facility EPC (engineering, procurement and construction).
SK ecoplant is also strengthening its competitiveness in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure through the Ulsan AI data center construction project, the largest in Korea.
A company official said, "We plan to accelerate the enhancement of corporations value by establishing ourselves as a key partner in the semiconductor and AI industry ecosystems, achieving stable revenue growth, and continuously securing financial soundness."
