Samsung C&T's construction division has laid out a roadmap to transform into an "AI-native" builder, where every work process and employee decision-making is based on artificial intelligence (AI).

Samsung C&T said on the 12th that it held "2025 AI Day" on the 11th at its headquarters in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, under the theme "AI era, redesigning construction (Build the Future with Intelligence)." At the event, Samsung C&T shared the results of its AI projects and global industry trends with employees and presented a companywide innovation vision through AI.

More than 400 people attended, including Samsung C&T CEO and President Oh Se-chul and other executives and AI-related employees, as well as Kim Yoon-sik, head of enterprise at AWS (Amazon Web Services) Korea, Samsung C&T's AI innovation partner.

Oh said, "In construction, where project scale is large and complexity is high, AI's role is becoming even more important," adding, "Let's connect our experience and data accumulated across numerous global projects with AI, recognize AI as a strategic partner, and create innovation together."

So Byung-sik, executive vice president and head of ENG Innovation at Samsung C&T, delivered a keynote introducing the state of AI technology development, the paradox of AI and its reasons, and Samsung C&T's innovation plan through AI.

So cited three key words for AI innovation: ▲ accumulation of knowledge: not stopping at simply consuming AI, but developing it into "our expert" based on Samsung C&T's proprietary data and know-how ▲ securing proactiveness: building a proactive AI partner that asks first and proposes, rather than a passive AI for which hallucinations are inevitable ▲ change of perspective: assessing AI not by external standards but solely by Samsung C&T's problem-solving capability to measure and improve AI's value.

The Samsung C&T data team then presented results from three projects of its jointly developed "AI agents" with global cloud computing firm AWS. The team demonstrated: ▲ AI-ITB Reviewer, which automatically analyzes massive volumes of bid proposals to quickly identify risks ▲ AI-Contract Manager (Contract Manager), which minimizes legal and contractual risks and supports professional responses ▲ AI-Project Expert (Project Expert, AIPEX), which integrates and analyzes dispersed field data to uncover hidden insights.

A roadmap to evolve into an "AI-native" builder was also presented at "2025 AI Day."

Samsung C&T will push a phased AI transition over the next three years, applying "AI agents" such as the newly developed AI-ITB Reviewer to all construction projects starting next year. Through this, it plans to realize AI-centered work intelligence across the entire construction sector and build an AI platform.

A Samsung C&T official said, "It was an event to share the present of AI technology that will change the paradigm of the construction industry and the vision for where we are headed, and to reaffirm our commitment to building an organization that grows together with AI."
