Hyundai E&C won the Busan Sajik District 5 redevelopment and maintenance project, surpassing 9 trillion won in urban renewal orders.
Hyundai E&C said on the 10th that it was selected as the final builder through a yes-or-no vote by union members on Hyundai E&C's sole bid at the general meeting to select the builder held by the Busan Sajik District 5 redevelopment and maintenance project union on the 8th.
The Busan Sajik District 5 redevelopment is a project to create an apartment complex and ancillary welfare facilities with four buildings, 787 units, and 3 underground to 38 above-ground floors at 148-1 Sajik-dong, Dongnae-gu, Busan. The construction period is 40 months after the start of work, and the construction cost is 356.7 billion won.
The complex is located at a transportation hub where Dongnae Station on Subway Lines 1 and 4, Minam Station on Lines 3 and 4, and Gyo-dae Station on Line 1 and the Donghae Line intersect. Large convenience facilities such as Lotte Department Store and Lotte Mart, as well as Sajik Market and Dongnae Market, are nearby, providing a pleasant residential environment. Excellent education infrastructure, including Minam Elementary School, Geohak Elementary School, Naeseong Middle School, Yeomyeong Middle School, Busan Jungang Girls' High School, and Busan National University of Education, is concentrated in the area, making the education environment strong.
Hyundai E&C proposed naming the complex "Hillstate Sajik The Prism." By adding "Prism," which means a collection of light and diversity, to the premium residential brand "Hillstate," the company expressed its intention to build a home that anyone would want to live in—a better home—at the prime location in Sajik-dong.
Hyundai E&C collaborated with UNStudio to unveil a landmark design that organically combines Busan's natural environment and urban image. With a facade that looks like waves flowing along the ridgeline, the design embodies harmony between nature and the city, and it adds artistic beauty through graceful curves and three-dimensional sculptural aesthetics.
The complex will feature seasonal theme gardens, including a forest plaza and a sky plaza, and a roughly 1-kilometer circular walking trail so residents can enjoy nature in the city. With a landscaping plan that reflects seasonal themes such as a maple forest, water features, and a spring flower garden, it will be built as a park-style complex where residents can feel the changes of the four seasons.
At the top floor, a sky community will offer views of Baegyang Mountain, Geumjeong Mountain, and downtown Busan. The community will also operate various programs such as a guest house, dining, healing Pilates, and a party room. The complex will provide a pleasant community space and parking for 1.9 vehicles per household, and it will enhance convenience with a drop-off zone for each building and two elevators.
With this Sajik District 5 win, Hyundai E&C surpassed a cumulative 9 trillion won in urban renewal orders and is extending its streak at No. 1 for seven consecutive years. Earlier this year, it secured orders for ▲ Busan Yeonsan District 5 reconstruction, ▲ Gaepo Jugong Complexes 6 and 7 reconstruction, ▲ Guri Sutaek-dong redevelopment, and ▲ Apgujeong District 2 reconstruction.
A Hyundai E&C official explained that if the company succeeds in winning the Jangwi District 15 redevelopment project within the year, it will surpass the 933.95 billion won recorded in 2022 and, for the first time among domestic builders, exceed 10 trillion won in urban renewal orders.
