GS Engineering and Construction said on the 7th that it won the "in-house legal team of the year" award at the "2025 Korea Law Awards," organized by ALB (Asian Legal Business), an affiliate of the Thomson Reuters media group, in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 6th.
Marking its 13th year, the awards are a prestigious legal awards program held annually for leading law firms and corporations' legal teams across Asia.
Among large domestic construction companies this year, GS Engineering and Construction was the only one to receive the honor. Based on experience accumulated while carrying out global projects, GS Engineering and Construction's legal team established contract review standards to prepare for risk factors in overseas business through an "engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) risk checklist."
It also effectively protected the company's legal rights in multiple international arbitrations and responded effectively to potential risks by leading strategic settlements in negotiations with numerous overseas clients.
It was evaluated as having helped ensure smooth execution of projects through effective legal responses in overseas mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and global real estate development businesses.
